DRAGONWYNDE'S MIDSUMMER'S NIGHTMARE II - This weekend, 7/21 - 7/23 [Jul. 18th, 2006|11:51 am]
The Kingdom of DragonWynde

ltbloodrose
[mood |accomplishedaccomplished]

Greetings to the peoples of the Kingdoms of DragonWynde, Avalon, and Midgaard:

I, Duke Master Sir Sereang Darkblade, King of the Unseelie Court, do hereby send this invitation to enter the dark lands of Malborgia in the southernmost reaches of the Kingdom of DragonWynde to attend the Second Annual Midsummer’s Nightmare Great Court.

For those feint of heart and weak of constitution, I will extend my protection unto thee, as my realm is known to prey upon the pure and noble of heart. If you are brave enough to dare enter my realm without my protection, I will not be held accountable for what befalls you. I must let it be known that even with my protection, you will feel certain effects as my realm does not abide with those who are pure and noble within its borders.

To reflect to dark nature of the lands of Malborgia, upon arrival those who are not native to the Duchy will be given a card describing how they are being affected by the lands. He or she who role plays their card best will receive a prize of Long Island Meadery’s Award winning Apple Cyser.

DATE AND TIME: The festivities begin on the 21st day of July, Anno Draconis 4, (mka Friday, July 21st – Sunday, July 23rd, 2006).

LOCATION: Duchy of Malborgia, Kingdom of DragonWynde (mundane residence of Duke Sereang Darkblade/Lord Vedras/Lady Boudicca/Admiral Rhedd of Avalon, 640 Johnson Avenue, Ronkonkoma, NY 11779).

FEES: $15.00 ($5.00 for port-a-privy, $10.00 for feast). For those that RSVP by 7/19/2006, dayboard is free. If you do not RSVP, dayboard will cost $3.00.

We will also be holding our annual Auction to benefit the Kingdom. Be sure to bring funds with you if you wish to bid, as this year there will be ABSOLUTELY NO I.O.U.s!

RSVPs are strongly encouraged for planning/logistical purposes; please email His Grace Sereang at tkellisonjr@yahoo.com by Wednesday, July 19th. Be sure to RSVP or you’ll be stuck paying $3.00 for dayboard!

AUTOCRATS:
Head Autocrat: Duke M. Sir Sereang Darkblade
Assistant Autocrats: DragonWynde’s Council of Lords (King M. Sir Ronan SilverWing-Vermithrax, Grand Duchess M. Dame Myfanwy L.T.R. Blodynrhos, Duchess M. Nyx, Duchess M. Marwenna Firesplitter, Duke M. Conal Firesplitter, Lord Vedras, Lady Boudicca, Lord Justus, Lady Rhonwen)

FEASTOCRATS: Lady Rhonwen and Lady Boudicca

OTHER INFO:
--Please bring your own chair. If you have a folding table, we’d appreciate it if you bring it.
--Please make your best efforts to keep mundane items out of site – hide it, cover it, transfer it to a period looking container, or don’t use it. The Grand Duchess’ Bag of Mundanity shall lurk, and mundane items not properly camouflaged may be removed from sight, to be returned upon request by the owner. We also appreciate the setting of cell phones to vibrate, ESPECIALLY during Court. Observing these simple rules helps to preserve a period atmosphere and enhance the event experience for everyone.
--Bring your feast gear. We will not be providing paper goods. If you don’t own any, there will most likely be some to borrow and/or purchase.
--Site is wet (BYOB); but we respectfully ask that you refrain from imbibing until after the close of Great Court.

EVENT SCHEDULE:

FRIDAY:

5:00pm - Pavilion/Site Setup – We need as many DragonWynde Citizens as possible to help with event setup Friday night. Personal tent setup also begins at 5pm for those who wish to camp or setup on Friday night.

Lighting of the event fire, signaling the official start of the event.

SATURDAY:

Pre-event: Tent setup will be permitted until 11:30am. After this time, tent setup will not be allowed until just before feast. As indicated above, all are welcome to set up on Friday night to avoid prolonged setup on Saturday.

11:45am: Opening Court

12:00pm: Evil vs. Good Tourney:

The insidious nature of Malborgia has seeped into the very being of those that have entered its environs, igniting age old hatreds and causing a battle to erupt to determine who is superior - Evil or Good. The rules are as follows: those pure of heart must follow the rules of chivalry even if he or she is not a knight (i.e. cannot attack from behind, if your opponent loses a limb you must give up the use of your own limbs, etc.). “Evil” is allowed to whatever it pleases. This tourney is a one hour Ragnarok format.

1:00pm: Dayboard is served (Meats & Cheeses, veggies, bread, honey butter, ice tea, lemonade, water)

1:30pm: Ragna-Rock Tourney (Peasants’ Revolt) - The populace has been affected by the insidious nature of the dark realm and is attacking the very defenders of the realm. Can you survive the Ragna-Rock?

3:00 pm: Dungeon Crawl - Returning from the lands of Avalon, I have decided to bring to my lands a tourney that I truly enjoyed while there. The Dungeon Crawl will make its debut appearance in DragonWynde. This is a truly diabolic creation of King Maximus; I hope you all enjoy the terror of the Dungeon Crawl!

4:30pm: Ettin Attack! A truly evil creature has left its lair and is running amok in the lands - can you destroy this hideous beast before it destroys you?

6:00pm: Feast is served. The evening’s fare will be Roast Beast (beef), Roasted Vulture (turkey), Rosemary’s Baby Potatoes, and Azathoth’s Glazed Carrots.

8:00pm: King Ronan will be holding DragonWynde’s Great Court, at which time awards will be presented and re-affirmations will be sworn.

When court closes, all are invited to the Undead Monkey Inn for a night of merriment and games, including the first annual “Malborgia Hold-em” Tournament. There will be a $10.00 entry fee with half going to the prize pool.

SUNDAY

Breakfast on your own

1:00 PM King’s Champion Tourney – “Knight’s Tale” Tourney

2:00 PM Kingdom Champion Tourney

Please direct any questions you may have to Duke Sereang or any of DragonWynde’s Councillors.

Good Citizens and Friends:

The Kingdom of DragonWynde is proud to present Queen’s Birthday/Harvest Festival IV. Please join us for a weekend of fun and merriment in celebration of Her Majesty’s birthday and harvest time.

DATES: December 3 & 4, Anno Draconis 4 (mka 12/3 – 12/4/05)

EVENT DETAILS:

SATURDAY:

WELCOME TO THE RAMPANT LION!

Once again, we will be hosting an in-persona tavern lurk. If you missed the last one, be sure not to miss this one! Our taverns have received many rave reviews, including one from King Maximus of Avalon himself!

The Rampant Lion Inn is located in the town of Danford, in the eastern part of Fendahlia, near the ruins of Castle Tobikins, which was pulled down during the cleansing of the land by Lord Ulrich. A new castle, Castle Glastonbury is being built on the ruins of the old castle. There has been a lot of traffic in Danford since construction began on the new castle; many laborers and artisans were summoned from throughout Fendahlia to undertake this task. The inn’s owner, Riley McTiernan has certainly had his hands full since then!

But now many of the populace are traveling through Fendahlia northward towards the Royal Province because there is to be a grand celebration for Her Majesty’s Birthday. Some of them are coming from Griffon’s Peak, where they had gathered to begin a quest a short time ago. The quest is over, and now it’s on to the Royal Province. Preparations are hastily being made to receive all the guests who are expected to arrive this week’s end!

Come and join the crowd at the Rampant Lion. Share good food, good drink, and good company, as we celebrate with our countrymen.

Autocrats: Sreang/Malakai

Someone has stolen the good luck charm of the Drinking Horn, a tavern in competition with the Dead Parrot Inn, in Javelin Bay, Griffon's Peak The owner of the Drinking Horn has accused the goodly landlord of the 'Parrot' of stealing the horn (and his customers!). As the Parrot is one of Their Majesties new favorite taverns, they have sent out a call for help to find the lucky Horn so the matter may be laid to rest.

We will be introducing our new LARP system at this event. Come early for the Players Meeting so we can help you with your stats.

(no subject) [Aug. 26th, 2005|11:53 am]
The Kingdom of DragonWynde

My husband received this letter today:

My Friend,

Since I returned home to the Mountains after the Drow War, many things have come to pass. The journey into the Underdark left me weary and with a poisoned mind. Please convey my apologies to your Lady Wife and your Subjects; I believe I may have said and done things in my current state that I would not have done otherwise. Know that my brethren have been caring for me well, and more of my strength and my reason return to me with each passing day.

You will be saddened to hear that my Father has recently passed from this world to the next, forever to dwell at Moradin’s side at the Great Forge. I have taken up his throne in the Great Hall under the Mountain, to rule as King of the Dwarves of EverWynde.

It saddens me to say that due to my responsibilities, I can no longer serve you as I have been. Therefore I am sending my kinsman, Gunnar Tovak, to serve you in my stead. He is loyal and steadfast, and a fine warrior, but beware when he lets loose his tongue! Fear not, he knows his place. He is my right-hand man and I trust him with my life, so I can trust him with yours as well. All are to recognize him as the leader of Dwarves at DragonWynde’s Court, and I pass my title of Viscount to him. His authority as leader of Dwarves comes directly from me, and his word may only be superseded by mine.

I hope that one day soon we shall be able to share a barrel of ale at the same table again. Until then, may Moradin’s blessings be upon you, and long live our Glorious Kingdom.

~Firodan

A humble apology from the dwarf, I am rendered speechless! If I ever meet him again, I may look on him differently (though I will still need to look down to look on him!)

It remains to be seen if this Gunnar can live up to his kinsman's words. I suppose only the Gods know the answer.
